Some tips for a relaxing and safe vacation :

The discovery and experience of strange cultures and style of livings belongs to a grate vacation. Most times, safety and cleanliness varies from the standards, travelers are used to from their home country. Our CD shall serve making your stay most comfortable and save and we have listed some advises below:

Alcohol

Swimming and sunbathing under the influence of alcohol or intoxicated may harm your health. Car and motorbike driving becomes even more dangerous due to your relative inexperience with local traffic conditions and road habits of other drivers.

Bathrooms

Be careful with slippery tiles and bathtubs. Most times no rubber mat are provided.

Balcony

Do not allow your children alone on the balconies. Do not place any furniture or chairs next to the fences as children may use it to climb on it.

Electrical Appliances

Under no circumstance use any electrical appliances if standing with bare feet on a wet floor.

Eating and drinking

Do not drink water from the tap. Decline any beverages served with ice cubes, if you do not know if the ice machines have filters installed (most major hotels have) Ice cold beverages will cause diarrhea when drunken in the heat. Bottled drinking water is available in most hotel rooms of international hotels complimentary.

Elevators

Some elevators do not have the two-door system, meaning no inner doors. Open elevator shafts may endanger small children. Do not let your children use the elevators without company.

Gas

Should your room have a cooking corner, make sure, that the gas valve is closed after each use of connected facilities. Check the valve at the gas bottle and close it too.

Children

Do not leave your children without company, especially on balconies or in the pool area. Accompany your children whenever they like to use a public or private playground. Make sure, the babysitter or caretaker knows where the parents can be reached at any time.

Sun lounges

Make sure before use, that the sun lounges are stable and the backrest height adjustment has arrested in its position properly.

Car rental/Motorbike rental

Rules of engagement (traffic) are different from the ones you are used to and existing rules are most times not followed, we recommend to be very careful should you decide the rent a vehicle. Pay attention to the insurance coverage of the vehicle, if not rented from an internationally known agency, you might end up paying for an accident the full value of a car for minor damage.

Emergency Exits

When checking into a hotel, look for emergency exit signs and possible escape routes. It will help to find the safest way out in case of an emergency situation.

Smoking

Carelessly disposed burning matches and cigarette buts can cause a huge fire hazard in a dry country like Thailand.

Safety Glass (ware)

Not everywhere, safety glass is one of the safety features installed. Be careful when walking, as glass is used for fences, doors in shopping centers, etc. and while being exposed to bright sunshine and walking into a darker area, you might oversea a hindering made from glass.

Sunbathing

Frequent sunburn may cause skin cancer. We recommend for people with light skin and birthmark, to get slowly accustomed to the local conditions. Water enhances the strength of the sunlight and water resistant sun cream with high sun blocking factor should be applied to your skin at any time. Children and especially babies should not exposed to any sunlight during noon hours. In the event you still get a sunburn, cool down the affected area with cold water. If an infection is suspected, visit one of the many clinics or hospitals in Pattaya. If gotten a sunstroke, do not drink alcohol.

Beach and open Sea

Pay attention to the flags raised along the beaches when the weather condition get worse. Depending on the sign, you will get information if swimming in the open sea is still safe. Do not swim far away from the shore or go swimming in an area with many jet skis and boats, they may endanger your health.

Swimming Pool

Lifeguards are on duty around the swimming pools only in first class hotels. Be careful around the pools of smaller hotels, check for slippery area, do not dive in head first from the brink, bridge or decorative objects. Do not go swimming after your meal and after alcohol consumption.

Diving

You should have concluded your last dive at least 24 hours prior to your airplane departure.

Animals

Hygiene and treatment of animals is most different from your country of origin. We recommend to explain to your children not to play with dogs and cats or to feed these. In the event, an animal bites you, consult a doctor immediately.

Valuables

Valuables, travel documents, etc. should be kept in the in-room safe or if not available in the safety deposit boxes at the reception of the hotel you are staying in. Hotels normally are not responsible for any lost or stolen items. If going out, take only with you the money you need to spend a most enjoyable day or evening in Pattaya. When entering the code of an in-room safe, do not use your own birthday or number of your credit card in your wallet, it is easily figured out by someone with access to your private belongings.
