Environment and Nature :

In the year 1991 Pattaya was declared a front runner for environmental control and protection in Thailand. Huge sums of money are invested each year for the protection of the environment. The sea water is once again suitable for swimming. “Dusty” waters are caused by sand particles and it should not be regarded as dirty water.  

The new water treatment systems are in operation and few remaining households will soon be connected. New parks were built and opened to the public, the southern part of beach road was declared walking street in the evening, starting 7 p.m. (Saturdays (1.30 p.m.) Bicycle rentals can now be seen along the beach road.

We would like to request not to buy “Souvenirs” of certain art, which were declared as endangered species.
